BIRCHALL RACING WIN AT DARLEY MOOR

Ben and Tom Birchall took their TT winning F2 outfit to Darley Moor for the Annual Stars at Darley meeting where they were invited to race in the final round of their Sidecar championship on Sunday.

After securing pole position the F2 World Trophy winners went on to take the win in the 15 lap race in front of a huge crowd that had gathered at the circuit for the Stars races.

Ben said: "We were invited to race by the organisers again this year and we are always happy to support the club that we have been involved with for a number of years. As usual the event was well organised and supported by a huge crowd of fans again. It is always a well supported meeting and it was nice to meet all the fans again."

Ben and Tom now head to Brands Hatch where they will race in the two final races of the British Championship. Having already won the British 600 cup they look forward to the trophy presentation at the end of the weekend. They will want to take the win in each of the final two races to maintain their unbeaten record of winning every round they have contested.

Ben and Tom will have a teammate this weekend as 13 times TT winner Michael Dunlop is to switch from solo racing to sidecars at Brands Hatch to ride the Birchall's TT winning F2 outfit with the vastly experienced Dan Sayle as passenger.

Four years ago Dunlop and Sayle rode Nick Crowe's outfit at Oliver's Mount and will be an impressive addition to the grid at Brands in the 600 cup at the weekend and Dunlop said: "I'm looking forward to riding the outfit at Brands. Thanks to the Birchalls for letting me use their three times TT winning LCR Honda and to Stuart Higgs and Roger Body for sorting the job out."

The weekend begins on Friday with free practice at 12.50pm followed by qualifying at 5.15pm which sets the grid for the first of two 10 lap races on Saturday, the first being at 1.15pm and the final race of the 2016 championship is at 5.05pm. Both races carry double championship points.
