FPW Racing complete successful Pre-Season shakedown test at Cartagena.

FPW Racing got their 2018 season underway taking part in a four day pre-season test at the Spanish circuit of Cartagena sharing track time with the British Superbike riders. Both FPW Racing young guns, Storm Stacey and Taz Taylor, made good progress and feel very positive ahead of the season opener at Brands Hatch Indy in just over a months time.

Storm, onboard the recently acquired KTM RC250R, dialled himself in well, and with only minor changes to the settings throughout the test he ran consistent quick lap times, exceeding the teams expectations by over one second at this early stage of the season.

Taz, riding a Kalex chassis for the first time, adjusted well, and despite an off on the first day, made good progress as the team progressed through their testing schedule. Taz used both Kalex chassis available to him and provided high quality feedback enabling the team to make informed and meaningful set-up changes, as he increased the pace to complete the test less than half a second from his teammate’s fastest time despite running used tyres.

Team owner, Adrian Mason reported “I’m really pleased, we’ve had a fantastic test, both riders are happy, and we’ve now gained a good set-up for both bikes. We’re really looking forward to the season ahead.”

The riders would like to thank their personal sponsors: UK Sameday, KCS Crane & Transport Services, Tickhill Labour & Plant Hire, DLR Transport, A-Plant, Think Logistics, Nationwide Lifting Solutions Ltd, Nationwide Plant Solutions Ltd, Purston Motor Company, KeyPlus Patrol & Response. Your support is greatly valued and appreciated and enabled this important pre-season test to take place.

FPW Racing travelled from Cartagena to Valencia to watch Storm’s opening sessions of the British Talent Cup Official Test, before their return journey to the UK.
