Moto Rapido's Brands Hatch race report

The team had a good weekends racing with lots of TV coverage! Superbike: John set an amazing lap time in qualifying of 45.044 despite the obvious pain from his broken foot  which meant starting us second row, P5 on the grid. We tried to keep the laps in the practice sessions to a minimum but by race day the injury sustained at Donington last week was aggravated and causing John considerable pain. In the two 30 lap races the injury was clearly taking a toll but he pushed on to finish  P13 and P9, securing towards the championship. We will not be attending the official test this week at Oulton park to allow John to receive the treatment and rest he needs to come back strong for the race weekend. Moto3: Thomas continues to progress and impress the team, he was really quick in practice and qualifying throughout the weekend. We started row 5 on the mixed grid in race 1 and managed to finish 7th overall and 2nd in his class of standard Moto3’s. With a good result from the first race we managed to start on Row 3 and with a big tussle on the first few laps Thomas was leading the standard class by 2.7 seconds! Unfortunately this was not be the end of a perfect start, Thomas got caught up behind some of the faster machines in the open class and could not get passed meaning the second place rival manged to catch up and eventually took the win after a good battle. We are really pleased with how the team worked this weekend and I am very proud of them all. Thanks to everyone that visited over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed yourselves. We will be pushing for podiums at Oulton! Report By Moto Rapido Ducati
