RHR Yamaha getting ready for the Michelin MX Nationals lift Off

This weekend marks the beginning of another Championship for the Rob Hooper Racing Yamaha Motocross team as they strive to become the Michelin MX Nationals champions of 2018.

All three RHR team members will be pitched together in the Fastest 40 race whereby the top 20 MX1 and MX2 riders all race together as they battle for their respective class titles.

Robbie Dowson will be looking to squeeze every ounce of power out of his Yamaha YZF 250 as he comes up against the MX1 450’s including his team mates Kristian Whatley and Ryan Houghton.

Team Manager Rob Hooper is a big fan of the series saying “The MX Nationals team put on fantastic events, and we are really looking forward to this one.  The Fastest 40 format makes for tremendous racing and is great for the spectators plus they get to watch the stars of tomorrow in the Youth races”.

On his Team’s hopes for the series Hooper commented “This is such a tough series, but as with all Championships we are going there to win. Kristian and Ryan both showed they have the pace to be with the front runners at the Maxxis last week at Culham and both of them are only going to improve as the season moves on.  This is going to be a hard one for Robbie but racing against such competition is only going to help him as a rider, but we saw last week when he gets a clear lap he certainly has the speed”.

The meeting has been moved from its initial venue of Lyng to the Preson Docks Motocross track in Lancashire, and runs on both Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April.  A two-day weekend pass is just £15 on the gate . Children aged 12 and under go free. Camping is available from Friday onwards for only £10. There’ll be on-site facilities as well as refreshments and trade stands.
