Strong results for FPW racing as Boerboom & Stacey impress at Sunny Snetterton!

FPW Racing with riders Jorel Boerboom and Storm Stacey continued their impressive recent form taking strong results from round five at Snetterton despite setbacks earlier in the weekend. Jorel fought hard in both races and was rewarded with fifth position in race two, his best result of the season, having been unfortunate to be involved in a last lap collision in the first race whilst battling for eighth place. Storm took his fourth podium of the season in the first race and narrowly missed the podium in race two, finishing in a close fourth position to consolidate third place in the overall championship standings. Storm settled in well during free practice finishing the day in fourth position with Jorel working hard on the set up of his Kalex KTM for the upcoming qualifying and races. Qualifying proved eventful, especially for Storm, provisionally in third place with a few minutes remaining, he was lucky to escape injury whilst in collision with an out of control rider that brought out the red flag. Storm was forced to sit out the remaining minutes, shuffling him down to seventh position on the grid. Jorel continued to work through his set up schedule, improving his lap time to line up on the fifth row of the grid for the opening race.

FPW Racing - Official Press Release - 3 July 2017
Both Storm and Jorel made good starts to the 10 lap opening encounter and completed lap one in fifth and eighth positions respectively. Storm was involved in a race long battle with Edmund Best and Tom Carne, the trio exchanging places regularly before Storm gained a narrow advantage at the chequered flag to take third place on the podium. Jorel, with renewed confidence, enjoyed a great battle for eighth place before the last lap coming together with fellow Dutchman, Mike Brouwers. Following the excitement of race one, Sunday’s 12 lap feature race proved to be even more spectacular. Storm started from third position on the front row with Jorel heading the third row of the grid. They both maintained station at the completion of lap one, but by mid-distance positions third through to sixth were covered by just half a second with both FPW Racing riders in the thick of the action. As the thrilling race reached the closing stages the group battling for third place increased to six riders, with any one of them in with a chance of the podium. As the chequered flag waved, Storm took fourth place a fraction of a second ahead of his upbeat teammate, Jorel, delighted with his best result of the season finishing in fifth place. Storm has now consolidated third position in the championship as we head towards half way through the season, holding a 28 point advantage over fourth place. Jorel, following his upturn in form is closing in on a position inside the top ten. The team now look forward to round six of the HEL Performance British Motostar Championship at Brands Hatch GP over the weekend of 21-23 July.
