Barry Sheene

Barry Sheene was a British World Champion in 1997 and he was the most recent British Champion until 2015. His racing career ran from 1968 to 1984 and his first win was at the Brands Hatch Circuit. After retiring from racing him and his family emigrated to Australia where he commentated in motorsport events on a verity of channel, he also often returned to England to take part in Historic Motorcycle Events at Donington Park and he also ran with the Queens Baton in the run up to the 2002 commonwealth games. Since Sheene’s Death in 2003 brands hatch have named a corner at their circuit Sheene’s corner.
